AURELIS Spatial: from an imagined studio to a free Framer template.
I started with one idea: an architecture website should carry the same sense of proportion, light, and quiet as the spaces it presents.
I created AURELIS Spatial Studio as a fictional practice rooted in Copenhagen and London. Its guiding line, “Spaces shaped around how life feels,” became the starting point for the brand, the project stories, and the website.
The visual language grew from materials: warm bone, charcoal, stone, timber, and smoked glass. I paired Instrument Serif with Manrope and gave the typography room to breathe. Three intersecting architectural volumes introduce the experience.
Five fictional projects give the studio a world: Sora House, Nordhavn Residence, Atelier 17, Terra Retreat, and Monolith House. Large images, asymmetric compositions, and detailed case studies let each project unfold at its own pace. The photography is illustrative; the studio, people, and projects are concept content.
I built the system in Framer with 12 page layouts, CMS projects and journal articles, expandable services, and a setup guide. Restrained image reveals, subtle parallax, and an interactive architectural study support the spatial direction. Mobile layouts and reduced-motion fallbacks were part of the build.
The final pass focused on how the published site actually felt: refining the hero, checking image reveals, and reviewing the desktop and mobile compositions.
AURELIS Spatial is now available free on Framer Marketplace for architecture practices and interior designers to make their own.
