Framer vs WordPress isn’t a software debate.
It’s a business decision: how you want to own, change, pay for, and grow the site.
Simple picture we use with clients:
Framer ≈ a furnished apartment you rent.
Design, hosting, and security come in one bill. Moving out later takes work.
WordPress ≈ a house you own.
The software is free. You (or your agency) pick the host, the locks, the furniture (theme + plugins), and you can take the house with you if you change builders.
5 questions that usually settle it:
1. Will you post weekly content or sell many products?
→ WordPress is the safer default.
2. Is the site mostly a beautiful brochure you change a few times a year?
→ Framer is a strong fit.
3. Do you want one monthly bill and almost no “updates” talk?
→ Framer.
4. Do you want to own the files and not depend on one design tool?
→ WordPress.
5. Who will edit it in 18 months if the original freelancer is gone?
→ “Any WordPress person” = WordPress. “Another Framer designer” = Framer.
Neither tool wins by default. Framer wins on speed-to-beauty and low ops. WordPress wins on ownership, content, shops, and a deep talent market.
